Earlier last week, Van Cleef & Arpels unveiled the special exhibition ‘The Poetry of Time ™’ in Dubai. Alessandro Maffi, managing director of the brand’s Middle East and India region, personally greeted friends, media and VIPs. arrival. ‘This year,’ he said, ‘the family explores the boundaries of fine watchmaking with endless poetry and imagination.’
Van Cleef & Arpels exhibits the “EnchantingNature ™” and “JewelsthatTelltheTime” as the theme, exhibiting the extraordinary dial ™ series and the poetic complication function ™ series of exquisite timepieces, explaining the family’s unique watchmaking technology combining technical strength and dream emotion. Intricate mechanical mechanisms, artistic techniques, inspirational sparks and imagination blend together to create a poetic world where fairytale dreams come true and exude unique charm.
Under the theme ‘EnchantingNature ™’ we can find ‘LadyArpelsOiseauxEnchantées’ watches. This watch combines hard gems inlay technology and fine feather inlay technology. Famous artist NellySaunier recreates the beauty of flying birds in the air with real feathers, giving the extraordinary dial ™ series a new aesthetic.
In the theme of ‘JewelsthatTelltheTime’, we can admire the superb enamel dial art and listen to the stories they tell. Equipped with a precise and reliable self-winding mechanical movement, 24 hours a day and night companionship. One example is the ‘LadyArpelsJourNuitCoccinelles’ watch. During the day, filigree enamel outlines two beetle figures that are active on the dial; at night, the quiet night is set against the intricate diamonds on the flowers, shining brightly.
The exhibition also presents the creation of the Charms collection for watch enthusiasts in the Middle East: the new CharmsMalachite special numbered watch. The 32mm feminine case appears in gold for the first time, the bezel is set with two rows of sparkling diamonds, the iconic Alhambra® diamond lucky charm, and the alligator strap can be replaced between fluorescent green and matte white.
Van Cleef & Arpels also exhibited Cadenas® watches, emphasizing and highlighting the brand’s heritage. The Cadenas® watch came out in 1935 and first appeared as jewellery with a dial and padlock buckle. Last year, Van Cleef & Arpels re-interpreted the dial, buckle and gem setting in a bold and modern way, launching nine new works.
