New watch with classic charm
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Beige calendar is inspired by the PolarisII watch from 1970. It is equipped with an exclusive new hand-painted double-layered blue gradient dial, which is retouched with sunburst and grain. Both the central disc and the main dial now have a flashing gradient effect from dark turquoise to bright royal blue. The watch features an exclusive blue rubber strap with a ‘Paris stud’ motif, which matches the inner bezel.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Beige calendar watch retains the iconic look of the Polaris collection and is instantly recognizable with its slender Arabic numerals, trapezoidal hour markers and stick hands. These elements are treated with Super-LumiNova ™ coating to provide maximum readability in low light conditions. The Super-LumiNova ™ fluorescent material is vanilla-colored, which pays tribute to the famous Polaris watches from the 1960s to the 1970s. Of course, the Jaeger-LeCoultre calendar series is an out-of-the-box modern piece. The 42 mm case is made of stainless steel and features two protruding crowns-one for setting the time and the other for controlling the rotating inner bezel. The case is alternately hand-polished and brushed. The elegant appearance conceals the essence of movement. You must know that the Jaeger-LeCoultre calendar series watches are water-resistant to 200 meters.
Inside, the precision and craftsmanship of the self-winding mechanical movement live up to expectations. The Calibre899A / 1 self-made movement faithfully presents the seconds, minutes, hours and date (displayed through a dedicated window at 3 o’clock), while providing a 38-hour power reserve. The back of the closed case is decorated with four special engravings, including the SCUBA diving emblem, Jaeger-LeCoultre logo, and ‘1000HOURSCONTROL’ (indicating that the assembled watch has successfully passed 1000 hours of testing before leaving the Jura Valley watch factory in Switzerland) , And the words ‘Limitededition-Oneof800’ on the outer edge of the back cover.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre calendar series is the newest member of the Polaris collection, which was inspired by the iconic MemovoxPolaris watch. This historical model was developed following the recommendations of the US market and was produced between 1965 and 1968. The original Memovox watch introduced a revolutionary underwater alarm function for divers and is still synonymous with fearless adventure and technological innovation. With a three-ring concentric dial layout, a rotating inner ring and a multi-crown case, the Memovox watch is remembered for its unique and refined design specifications. Jaeger-LeCoultre’s new Beichen series continues to use these visual elements to pay tribute, but has been completely redesigned to meet modern needs, with shorter lugs, a thin bezel, an ergonomic crown and a sapphire crystal dome.
